Aaron Hernandez’s 2006 Toyota 4Runner, allegedly used in a drive-by double murder, is now up for auction on eBay as an “infamous” collectible item. The listing posted online reads “This is the REAL DEAL !!! Aaron Hernandez’ (sic) infamous 2006 silver Toyota 4-runner. Now’s your chance to own this infamous piece of famous football memorabilia !!”. As of this morning, the bidding has exceeded $100K.
Say what you want about the people who are actually bidding on an alleged “murder car”, but there’s no denying the resale value on Toyota’s is fantastic. Just look at the numbers. Brand new, this car probably went for $20K. Yet after enduring 11 years of wear and tear, thousands of miles driven and being used for the occasional drive-by murder, this vehicle value has managed to increase 500%. Outstanding investment if you ask me. Hats off to the engineers in Japan, they really do know how to build cars in out there. Now, I’m definitely not saying you should take your brand new Toyota and go on a killing spree, but it’s pretty interesting to see that Hernandez could have had a really successful career flipping cars. Still was a huge piece of shit, but you can never say the guy didn’t know how to get paid for selling used cars. Check the Car Fax.
