(New York Post) WASHINGTON — Red Sox slugger David Ortiz might have snapped the last White House selfie. President Obama is considering a ban on selfies with White House guests after Ortiz apparently used his opportunity to plug corporate sponsor Samsung, White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said Sunday. “[The president] obviously didn’t know anything about Samsung’s connection to this, and perhaps maybe this will be the end of all selfies,” Pfeiffer said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
I would of loved to sit in on the meeting that decided to ban selfies with the President. A bunch of old people, who probably still use flip phones, sitting around a table, looking up the word “selfie” in the dictionary. Probably think Twitter is a type of bird. All of them ridiculing how pathetic society has become with this social media movement. The phrase “back in my day we had to…” used about 1000 times. Nothing is better than old people trying to understand the norms of teenagers. But no one is more upset about this than Obama. While I don’t agree with some of the changes Obama has made since being elected, I agree with most people that he is the coolest President we have ever had. The man lives for being accepted by the younger demographic. Whether its playing basketball with celebs, smoking weed or going on Zack Galifianakis’s talk show, the Commander in Chief just wants to be popular. You can’t tell him he’s not allowed to take selfies. Thats like telling a baby he can’t shit in his diaper. He won’t even be able to comprehend it. Incapable of even contemplating not doing it. Not if its gonna impact his popularity on Twitter.
This is such a win for Ortiz. Being the last person to ever take a selfie with the President? Thats the shit that gets you a first class ticket to heaven
